People prayer

Colossians 4:2-3

Colossians 4:2-3

Challenge students have had a wonderful time spending time with a group of Japanese students here for the year. They love them dearly and have deep friendships. They would also love to see these students come to have a personal relationship with Jesus.

Pray that as our students interact they would help Jesus make sense to their friends. Many of the students have said they can’t become Christians because they are Japanese. So pray that God could begin to break down these mental and cultural barriers to a relationship with Jesus. Also pray that they could ’see’ Jesus in our students so that words and deeds both will be used by God to draw these students to Him.

Friday Night Japanese

Friday Night Japanese

Originally uploaded by cedarledar
On Friday nights we have an informal, yet regularly planned event called the Friday Night Thing (FNT). Our group also has a connection with several Japanese students who are at CU for the year. Challenge students got to know a group from the same university last year (and even visited them in Japan last summer) and so made a quick connection with this year’s group.

All that to say that our Japanese friends wanted to make the food for the FNT and they wanted to make ‘their’ food to remind them of home. So we had 60+ students in the house for the Japanese style FNT. And,WOW, was it good and a good time. We had some kind of pancake things, rice balls with little sweet blankets, lots of noodles with veggies and some meat, California rolls and more. Many of our other Asian students also helped out in the kitchen and added their cooking expertise. So it was a very Asian night and we loved it.

Big Prayer

Colossians 4:2-3

Colossians 4:2-3

One major item is for a house. At present we are living with another family, which is a great blessing, but we would like to move into our own place soon. It will take a miracle for us to buy a house in Boulder and we believe God is in that business. We are looking right now just to rent something that will work for our family and ministry.

Pray for a great house.

Pray that we will learn all that God wants to teach us in our present circumstances and that we will be a blessing.

Pray that whatever germ is continuing to circulate thru our family will die.

State Retreat

We attended our State Christian Challenge retreat at the end of September. John Strappazon, the state director in Oklahoma, shared some stories from his life and how God has shaped his story. The students enjoyed it immensely and learned from this time. They also enjoyed being together in a different setting than the campus.

God seems to always work deeply in students hearts during these times when they are less distracted with school, dorm life, job, etc. So they are profitable times.

Good Lookin’ Family

Easter Picture

Here they are, the GREGORY FAMILY.

We sure miss you guys here in Arizona, but we’re excited to see all that God is doing up there in the mountains!

Enjoy that cool weather.

Good News

We have seen God at work lately.  Three students in the past three weeks have become followers of Jesus.  It has been fun to watch them respond to the Good News and see the transformation that is happening.

I hope to know how to post pictures to the site soon so that you can see people with your own eyes.

We are here

Thanks to our great and very dear friend Sean Campbell for setting us up in the online world. We will try and keep this updated as regularly as we can so you can keep up with our world and ministry. Please stay in touch with us so we can know about your worlds as well.

Sean has quite a good little business going now and you can check it out from the blogroll.  He can also sing (Julee says much better than Josh Groban) and is now part of the Phoenix Bach Choir.  Check it out at www.bachchoir.org

We also want to give a shout out to his wife and son.  Walk well, Noah!
